Notice is hereby given that by virtue of SEIZURE AND SALE issued out of the above entitled and numbered cause, and to me directed Thomas S. Romero Sheriff, duly sworn and qualified in and for the Parish of Iberia, La., have seized, and will offer for sale and will sell at public auction, for cash WITHOUT appraisal, to the last and highest bidder, at the front door of the Court House, in the City of New Iberia, La., between legal sale hours starting at 10 a.m. on
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24, 2026
The following described property, to-wit:
LOT 2 OF BLOCK 8 ACADIAN ACRES ADDITION, PART II, as per plat recorded in Miscellaneous Book 9, Page 38 of the records of Iberia Parish, Louisiana. That certain lot of ground, with all improvements thereon, and all rights, ways, privileges, servitudes and appurtenances thereto belonging and measuring Ninety and 8/10 (
90.8’) feet front on Texaco Street by a depth on its Western line of One Hundred Twenty and 0/10 (
120.0’) feet and on its Eastern line of One Hundred Twenty-Five and 0/10 (
125.0’) feet; and being bounded on the North by Texaco Street, on the South by
property of Worthy T. Quereau and Alice Q. Lovin, on the East by Lot 3 of Block 8 of Part II of Acadian Acres Addition, as per plat heretofore mentioned, and on the West by Lot 1 of Block 8.
Being the same property acquired by Michael E. Brooks in part from Tynes E. Mixon, Jr., by Act of Cash Sale dated March 26, 2004 and filed for record in Conveyance Book 1278, at Page 262, under Entry No. 04-03778 and in part from Teresa Nell Durand Brooks by act of Community Property Partition dated July 22, 2013 and filed for record in Conveyance Book 1562, at Page 459, under Entry No. 2013-00008316 of the records of Iberia Parish.
To pay and satisfy the sum of:
SEVENTY-NINE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-TWO and 26/100 ($79,
252.26) DOLLARS, together with accrued interest in the amount of $4,
733.42, late charges in the amount of $
75.00, plus interest at the rate of
7.250% per annum
from date of judicial demand until paid in full, reasonable attorney’s fees, and all costs of these proceedings.
ALL SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS MUST HAVE CASH (CASH PAYMENT IN THE FORM OF A CASHIER’S CHECK), CASHIER’S CHECK OR A VERIFIABLE LETTER OF CREDIT IN FAVOR OF SAID BIDDER FROM A SOLVENT BANK, SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION OR OTHER SUCH FINANCIAL INSTITUTION AUTHORIZED TO DO BUSINESS IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA AND FULL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE ON DATE OF SALE.
