Notice is hereby given that by virtue of SEIZURE AND SALE issued out of the above entitled and numbered cause, and to me directed Thomas S. Romero Sheriff, duly sworn and qualified in and for the Parish of Iberia, La., have seized, and will offer for sale and will sell at public auction, for cash WITHOUT appraisal, to the last and highest bidder, at the front door of the Court House, in the City of New Iberia, La., between legal sale hours starting at 10 a.m. on
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2026
The following described property, to-wit:
Lot 53 of Block 5 of Darby Subdivision less and except that portion of Lot 53 which was conveyed to Rachel Louise Pecot Nicolle all as more particularly shown on the plat of survey prepared by Richard C. Spikes dated January 31,1980 and recorded March 31,1980 at COB 731, folio 162, entry no. 80-2899 of the public records of Iberia Parish, Louisiana. Being that certain lot or parcel of ground together with all buildings and improvements thereon, and all rights, ways, privileges and servitudes thereto appertaining and appurtenances thereof situated in Ward 5-N, New Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana measuring 50 feet front on Landry Drive by a depth on its easternmost boundary of 168.2 feet more or less to the rear boundary measuring 39 feet more or less, the western boundary being irregular in shape commencing at a point forming the boundary’ line between Lot 52 and 53 of Block B of Darby Subdivision to a distance of 7.2 feet along the said boundary thence turning at a right angle and in an easterly direction and commencing at a distance of 4.5 feet thence turning at a right angle in a northerly direction and proceeding a distance of 70 feet more or less to a point thence turning at a right angle in an easterly direction and commencing at a distance of 5 feet more or less to a point being the beginning of a chain link fence thence turning at a right angle and again commencing in a northerly direction proceeding a distance of 98.4 feet more or less to the rear boundary; being bounded on the north by Lot 72 of Block B of Darby Subdivision on the south by Landry7 Drive on the east by Lot 54 of said subdivision and on the west by Lot 52 and a portion of Lot 53 of said subdivision.
To pay and satisfy the sum of:
THIRTY-SEVEN THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED NINE DOLLARS AND 09/100 ($37,209.09) DOLLARS, plus interest thereon at the rate of 4.25% per annum from April 1,2025 until paid, reasonable attorney’s fees and all costs of these proceedings.
ALL SUCCESSFUL BIDDERS MUST HAVE CASH (CASH PAYMENT IN THE FORM OF A CASHIER’S CHECK), CASHIER’S CHECK OR A VERIFIABLE LETTER OF CREDIT IN FAVOR OF SAID BIDDER FROM A SOLVENT BANK, SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION OR OTHER SUCH FINANCIAL INSTITUTION AUTHORIZED TO DO BUSINESS IN THE STATE OF LOUISIANA AND FULL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE ON DATE OF SALE.
